It's the slow motion setting on my Android, and it was my lovely wife that took the video for me :)

I don't know what else I can say about this beer that hasn't been said already. at 4.5% it's an easy drinker, with tons of flavor, good aroma and just enough body to not make it feel like you're drinking something watery or light.

It;s not wonder this beer did so well in the competition. I'll be re-brewing this beer many times in the future for sure.

Thanks guys!

Remind me which version of the recipe you used and what you changed in yours just so I can make note of this when I rebrew?

Hmmm, I must have missed the sub of Vienna malt when Chris did this the second time and maybe the Vienna does a better job of body then the wheat does. I originally went with wheat for that exact purpose but Vienna would give it more of what I want than wheat so I'm now up to snuff.
What I liked about Chris' version was that you couldn't tell you were drinking a <5% beer plus I did build my original recipe to be bigger though I did it a second time at 152 and liked my first batch at 154 better.
Now I have to rebrew this more than once to try both a session and regular strength.
See what you guys made me do?

I'm sneaky like that!!! I also had 4 ounces of corn sugar in my session version, Ron did not. Oh...I also had Citra in the steep and Citra in place of Amarillo in the dry hop. Sneaky, sneaky!!!!

You suck at copying recipes! There is no citra in Simco/Amarillo. Where did you learn to read? :jumpy:
Remember my first time brewing this I inadvertently hit the tap and realized minutes later that 2 plus gallons had gone all over the floor. I've enjoyed both my versions as well as Chris' first version but I suck as session brewing like someone sucks at being sneaky!

The sugar is in there, but remember I scaled to 3.5G:

I should be clear that when I rebrew this it will be the full 5.5G 'cuz it's so yummy. I opted to not add the Citra because I have other Citra beers around right now and I wanted to brew the original recipe. I could see how Citra would add to this, but not having it certainly doesn't hurt it. Besides, Jeff would drink this version :D

Sorry about the sugar, I looked right over that when I read your recipe.
And to be honest, the only reason mine has Citra is because the store didn't have enough Amarillo and Simcoe when I bought the ingredients.

With the way your beer scored at AHA you don't need to apologize. To anybody. Ever again.

I filled a half growler of this today to take to a friend's house to share. He's the homebrewer I mentioned before with the sweet 3-tier set up for 11G batches. I know this keg is getting dangerously low already so I need to plan a 5G re-brew of this bad boy. So good, so easy to drink.

The boil is started. Hit my mash temps and boil volumes perfect this time. Last time I missed my OG, so we'll see if I hit that this time.

All finished. The fermenting bucket is tucked nicely away in the chamber. OG came in pretty much right on target this time. 1041 instead of 1042...to me, that's right on the money. Good brew day!!
