Ugh

My new conical is supposed to arrive on Tuesday. I was hoping to fill it up over the labor day weekend

But they are calling for highs in the upper 90s. There is no way I am going to sit in my little brewing garage doing a 1 hour boil in that kind of weather.

Don't blame ya! My only thought is, get up and do it at 3 or 4 am, should only be in the 80s. A good fan, a ton of water for drinking, a kiddie pool to sit in while the kettles boiling, the neighbors thinking u lost it... lol, I would not do it either.

We call that a mild summer here in Georgia.

I vote for early am brew... that way you can spend the rest of the day, chillin', grillin', and enjoying a cold frosty...

I second the early am brew day! I really need to get to the HBS so I can brew something. It's been too long.

I don't know what the weather is supposed to be here, but I'm already committed to brewing a fiver of an AG pilsner, so that's 90 minutes of boil time. But I intend to get an early start, so I'm hoping it's not too hot during that time.

Hey look, no complaining. The way I see it, you have a conical and I don't so I won't stand for complaining. I want pictures and if you are in the pictures sweating, we'll photoshop that out.
Can't wait to hear what you think about the setup.

like inkleg said, cool summer here. fwiw i cook early in the am so i'm done before it hits the 90s. and i've backed off doing AGs until the temps go down(probably late oct) just brew extract, don't take as long and still good beer.

I agree you can still make good beer with extract. My problem with that is with a hundred pounds of grain on hand I just can't justify buying the ingredients for extract brewing to myself.

With that much grain on hand would be damn tough to do an extract brew. I vote for the early morning brewing.
