It's a little device that holds a few hop pellets above the beer so you get aroma while you drink.

So the hops don't even touch the beer? That's crazy talk there and should be illegal.

It's interesting and I Wouldn't fault anybody for trying it but I prefer to just buy better beer. This feels like a way to "mask" or try to "upgrade" a lower quality beer to me.

It's funny you say this. I've always been one to say....."If you need salt and lime, maybe you should upgrade your Tequila."

Good example IMO. I don't drink a lot of tequila but when I do I like Patron Silver.

My sister read about
these and sent me some. They apparently also have some for wine, which she bought for herself.
We both came to the same conclusion. It might improve the flavor of a bad beer (or wine), but if you're not buying stuff you don't like to drink, you don'e need to change the flavor.
There's another beer teabag now that includes hops.
Hop Theory. I think one teabag can be used for 5 beers. So for $14.95, you could turn 60 boring beers into better beers. Of course, as with the others, why not just buy beer that you like?
I guess I could see these as useful if you're going somewhere where you have no control over the beer choice.
I wonder how long they'd stay fresh, since hops tend to deteriorate quickly if they're not handled correctly.

If your doctoring swill, then why not do the "pop the cap, toss in a hop pellet, and recap" trick. Then open it again 3-4 days later. IE dry hop your BMC.

Personally, I don't drink BMC, doctored or not. I don't like it and prefer water or tea if that's the only beer offered. Some people drink it. Live and let live but it's not for me.
From the website I didn't get that it's to make bad beer palatable, or make BMC into craft beer. It's to enhance the hop aroma that's already there in craft beers, especially IPAs, to engage the olfactory sense more fully. That's all.
