Got up early today because there were two big book sales, one in the AM and one in the PM with a killer lunch at a new Mexican place in between.
I bet y'all din't know I'm a bit of a foodie.
Anyhoo we got into both lines early and I was straight to the cookbook section....

BB2 wasn't as lucky in the Chess book department as there was a grand total of one book, but at least it looks like a good one...

We topped off the day by going to Parkway Brewery and refilling our growlers with "Get Bent On Oak" while they still had some. Man this is good stuff.

Hey Dawg, yes it was a blast. We enjoy getting out to the local events that we can get to.
We'll be pretty much home bound if we're still here in the winter.
Scoring the beer was a plus because the brewery had a memorial/fund raiser for our two murdered journalists and it was packed (we weren't sure how many barrels were done).
And OMG as I type this I totally forgot to post for you and BlackDuck about the memorial.
The outer area of this place has one piece picnic benches so BB2 and I sat at the big round tables inside. Anyway a foursome came up and asked for a chair but we invited them to sit with us and they did....
Turns out to be a couple from Cleveland in town to visit in-laws and Hubby works for The Brew Kettle and he stumbled upon someone who told him about the memorial/brewery.

This is a pic I took while standing in the line so it didn't turn out great but BB2 is chatting with the Brew Kettle guy.

This is the newer/outside part they just added to hold crowds and bands; the memorial drew way over three hundred people. I don't know how much was generated for the scholarships that have been set up in their names but I know they sold a heck of a lot of beer and all of the tee shirts.

Brew Kettle makes some really good beers. My only beef is their labels are plastic, and impossible to get off. But their beers are worth it.

I agree alb. The labels are a pain in the rear, but the beer is really good.

Have had a few of there's they do produce some nice beers. They are also a Brew on Premise, you can pick from quite a few different recipes brew then come back and bottle, but its quite pricey. I think you get something like 60 bombers for from around $140-$180. Had a guy used to work for us gave me some empty bombers from one he did many years ago.

Not one book on beer, or even cooking with beer. Sounds like a fun day.

Nice day!
I used to frequent book sales. When I moved in here with my lovely wife, I had to pare down my library. I still have boxes of books in the basement.

We've already got em' all.
He was raving about the "White Raj". He said Great Lakes was a good brewery as well.
Oh and I had my first Gose (sp?) in a flight and surprisingly liked it a lot. Any body just how much sodium is in this style ( a blood pressure no-no)?
