Way off topic: Muppets

Yes, I watched it last night. I grew up watching them and had to see what this reboot was going to be like.

There were a few times that I chuckled as some of the writing was very clever but I couldn't get over how different the voices sounded to me. Yes, it's new people doing them and for the most part I think they nailed the mannerisms, speech patterns and nuances of how they spoke - but they just sounded really different to me and I'm hung up on that.

Yes, I'm still a child at heart.

Anybody else check it out?

Saw it, and enjoyed it. Love the late night premise. Sam is really the only one that threw me off.

I totally forgot there was a muppet reboot going on.

The last muppets I watched were these.. which were not anything like old muppets LOL. But they were The Jim Henson Company's creations.

I was excited to hear about the reboot. Then disgusted that they made Kermit dump Ms. Piggy to have an affair. So I'm passing on it... Yes, I am a child of the late 70s, early 80s. :)

DVR'd but haven't watched yet. Promos made me smile and brought back memories of the original. I know what you mean about the voices, as they were a bit different in the latest movies as well. Going to try to set that aside when I watch it.

Kind of liked it, more geared toward the generation that grew up with the original Muppets but not so much kid friendly as it is adult freindly now.

I watched it on On Demand after seeing this post. I found it interesting but a little flat. I did like that it had nastalgic tone to it but it was just a little unfamiliar. I will keep an eye on it but I don't know that it will be in my regular rotation of must watch TV.

I guess the 1 million moms missed the little muppet in the picture I posted. He would have pissed them off. (the whole show would likely have pissed them off). Weird scifi must run under their radar.
