Asheville, NC - An Open Invite to All

Post by BlackDuck »

Well everyone, we are at it again.

The second annual Borg meetup has been scheduled. This is an open invite to everyone to join a few of us that will be getting together in Asheville, NC. We will arrive on Friday, February 5th, 2016 and depart on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. Right now, Inkleg, Beer-lord, RedBEERd, Dawg LB Steve and myself are confirmed. We'll plan to do a brewery tour or two, wear kilts, drink some home-brew and have a lot of fun.

So...consider yourself invited to one of the best beer cities in the USA. If you have any questions or would like to join us, please post here. Or feel free to PM any one of us with questions. We'll update this thread with more information as we have it.

We hope to see you in Asheville in February!!!

Bring it on Asheville! I'm locked and loaded and ready to go. We might not top next year but we can hopefully make the same level. Not sure how more of these will happen so grab your wallets and get planning.

Me thinks our ladies will one day use this against us.

For my part, I plan not to have one iota of alcohol while I'm there, just to make sure I'm not black mailed. :jumpy:

Looking forward to meeting up again guys. Also looking forward to meeting anyone else that might want to come to town during that time. Tours this year won't be able to top what Swen did for us last year. :( But we will have a good time just the same.

You just need to go ahead and ruin your reputation like me. The freedom is quite exhilarating. ;)

Next up Commando Kilt-walkers! (by the way, I take first dibs on a beer named Kilt-Walker which I already have mostly put together but will wait to brew it).

Anyone from the North Carolina area have suggestions for brewery visits, please let me know. I am concerned about getting private tours but hope we can work something out. I put together a quick, informal list of the most popular breweries based on hearsay and web search but am open to suggestions.
Word doc attached.

I'm afraid you're right, Steve. And there's no chance of redemption either.

I've already named my version of 4 Kilts Clueless: Kilt Lizard ..........but I'm still not able to find an 'appropriate' label.

On another subject, I'm not sure if or how we're going to get our homebrews over that way for those of us flying but maybe we should set up a plan like we did last time? I'm not even sure what I may have to bring.

The Brewbirds (MIGHT, HOPEFULLY, MAYBE) should be a stones throw away in Greenville by then. If so not only would we love the meet up but a day trip (about 45 min. drive d.o.t.) might be possible to arrange if we are settled enough :) (doubtful at the moment :( )

P.S. These meet ups need to happen when there are farmers markets open so the locals or hosting party has a decent menu to work with. :p
