officially, hello.
been on the MB forums and since Feb. of this year, and brewing their extract recipes since then too.. so far it has been fun learning terminology, methods, etc for making beer. I have dipped my feet, will get to jumping in as my equipment grows and my experience as well.
I recognize some names from there, and have lurked here for a couple months as well. I understand there was past events - even without really knowing the details - that make some brewers on here dislike the MB products, but for me extract brewing allows me to learn about different brews and processes, without having to commit as much time - which is at a premium for me atm.
I look forward to getting into partial mash and all grain brewing in the future, and learning from the vast amount of knowledge that can be gathered from the more experienced here!

Hi Kyle, I think there are a lot of us here that will always have an appreciation for Mr. Beer and their products for having got them into brewing in the first place. It's just that a lot of people here aren't happy with some of the business decissions the company has made and how it impacted them directly. If Mr. Beer works for you and is what your comfortable with then keep on keepin' on with it and we will all be happy to help you along the way even if/when you decide to move to partial mash or All Grain. We love to help and because we aren't tied to Mr. Beer or any other companies we can sometimes give better advice then you might get on a company forum.
So
and
We look forward to hearing more from you here on the Borg!

You guys will find a lot of exceptional, master extract brewers here.
If your schedule, space or comfort zone precludes PM or all grain brewing no worries there are mentors waiting and willing to lend a hand.

Welcome. There is nothing wrong with Mr. Beer or Brew Demon. Great place to start and figure out if this is for you. For a tiny investment, you figure it out. Or you can go my way and spend thousands of dollars on equipment just to get that first high of brewing beer. So don't be afraid to ask questions, no matter how silly you may think they are. We have all been there and are here to help. So raise a glass and drink up jonny

I think anyone who wants to continue brewing beyond the first 6 months to a year likely moves into partial mash and All Grain... right? I plan to. I am sure it is the natural evolution for most. I'll assemble my equipment a bit at a time, following the tips on here, and hopefully sometime next summer i'll have a few attempts!
thanks for the welcome folks! looking forward to learning more!
