BrewBorg Stout

Not sure if many remember this but we did a forum recipe a long time ago. It ended up being a chocolate stout. It came out really good and I've wanted to brew it again. Well, that time has come. I am going to scale it up for a 5 gallon batch but I am going to add a holiday theme to it. I will have to look over my notes again and update after that but I remember I used a vanilla bean soaked in vodka for about a week also to help extract some of the chocolate notes.

Here is my holiday twist. I want it to taste similar to those Andy mints. I am going to add some mint to secondary. Should be interesting! I'll keep this updated as I move forward with it. If anyone is interested in the original recipe I have that saved in beer smith and can get that uploaded too.

Dan, have you considered using Polaris hops?

They supposedly have a minty taste... I have not used them but have seen it described as floral with glacial mint...

Polaris and Pearle hops for mint; see if you can find my free wort thread from Adlebert's (I'm not good at linking). There is a chocolate mint IPA that was Polaris and Pearle hops.
