Might get a brew day in Sunday. Will be stewarding Son of Brewzilla @ Fat Heads Saturday and Sunday is open since the Browns team bus showed up for the game last nite in Cinci. This is what I'm thinking for Sunday for a 5.5 g. batch
7 lbs Two Row
2 lbs Maris Otter
1 lb C40L to bump the color and add a little bit of sweetness
.5 lb Carapils
1 oz Galaxy FWH
1 oz Galaxy @ 10
1 oz Galaxy @ 5
1 oz Nelson Sauvin @ Flameout
1 sachette S-05 Yeast Re-hydrated
5.17% ABV
64 IBU

Galaxy and NS should work great together. Maybe hit it with a 1 oz each at dry hop to really kick it up a notch. But that's just me and my hop poundage talking.

Trying to empty the freezer of accumulated older hops and stay somewhat within a theme. I know I have 3 oz Galaxy, might have more than 1 oz NS. Also wanted an lower ABV IPA, the Session IPA I did on Big Brew Day was so good especially good that I could have 4 or 5 and not start tripping over blades of grass
!!!

Also got to thinking, (scary I know) I have these from my April trip to Farmhouse, if I double up on the grain then collect 15 gallons of wort and split half of it back into my HLT kettle, do the boil with the NZ/AU hops, then transfer the other half to the boil kettle and do the following hop schedule:
1 oz Nugget FWH
1 oz Mosaic @ 15
1 oz Mosaic @ 5
2 oz Mosaic @ Flameout
5.17% ABV
65 IBU

2 beers one day, I figure only add about half hour to an hour to clear the boil kettle and start boiling the second batch.

That first one made me think of Moon Juice
http://santanbrewing.com/the-beer/moonjuice-ipa/. Which came into the store by me and by the time I got there (2 hours later) it was sold out
Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin sound great! Should be a good beer

Had a Galaxy Pale Ale @ Resurgence in Buffalo and that hop made it to my list of must use at least once, I think I picked these up in February or March and figured I better use them before they go stale.

The 2015 Galaxy crop is out. Galaxy seems to go goo with lots of hops and not just the down under hops. It's great with Simcoe, all the C hops and especially El Dorado.
But, when its that good, just using all Galaxy does make a tasty brew.
The price of hops are going up again and not just because its the new crop. The demand is rising and they are simply taking advantage of it all.

I have to think that hops already are the most expensive ingredient in any brewing recipe. It used to be shortages that drove up the prices but now I think its just greed. Even going back over a hundred years ago, brewers in England were complaining then about not knowing how expensive hops would be each year.

Both sounds really good. I'm with Paul (heaven help me) that I really focus on the aroma for IPAs at this point. If it doesn't have a great aroma I feel let down so I'm doing a lot of hop stands and dry hopping to make sure I get that "pop".
And Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin should make it smell great. Have a great brew day!

Long day yesterday, crapped out today, so it looks like I will brew these next Saturday.

When I'm gone ya'll are going to miss me.
But in the meantime, I just ordered 1 lb of 2015 NS hops because I fell off my hop-wagon. But I have been good until now.

Received 3 oz Legacy hops from the competition for the Bronze, don't think I have heard about Legacy hops.
