About time
I see the MrB site is down with an admission it is broke. It's about time they pulled their head out of there backside to fix it. I hope for the Noobs they fix it right this time, albeit too late for me. I'm still done with the place after they sent their jackass threat to me by e-mail.
Life is short, live it to it's fullest!
Re: About time
It seems it's just the link that are broken but I can still view things.
I did see a post by Samuel that was worded kind of nice about his neighbor being a nice guy.

I saw that post too, then it seems to be gone...
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Re: About time
Here's most of the post from Samuel..
Sorry for the late reply, I don't really visit the forum on the weekends. Actually I've been super busy this weekend building this beauty (check out my attachment). It lost its brewing virginity to a 10 gallon batch of Saison just yesterday. I'll probably be talking about this brewstand for a few weeks I'm so proud of it, so bear with me..
Anyhow, for the record, this is not the Soviet Union, and there are no conspiracies or coups going on related to the forum. The forum is more like a house that invites a lot of guests. Wouldn't you get tired if after the 15th time someone insults our curtains and tells everyone else to leave our house and go hang out at our neighbor's house? Our neighbor, by the way, is a cool guy as well. I would just assume our own friends and community care enough about us to not ditch us as we work diligently on our house reparations. Living in a bachelor pad with 2 other guy roommates and a near constant supply of beer, I have learned that most people don't usually care about some crappy curtains, but will stick around as long as there is beer. I definitely overextended this metaphor and ended up on a random tangent...
As for an explanation - I know beer; beer is my domain; but the interwebs I am still trying to figure out (I feel like I was born in the wrong generation sometimes). I can't give you a great explanation because it's very technical and a bit over my head; it mostly has to do with some mundane thing like system integration. What I do know is I see all of the internet savy folks here at Mr. Beer working very hard on the forum. So in the end, I'm just saying it's cool to say whatever, but just because we are now on the interwebs and can't see each other's faces doesn't mean we shouldn't be kind and respectful.

Re: About time
Seems like a pretty decent perspective to me. I can't sympathize too much with people getting in an uproar at the MrB forum. I like the saying on a T-shirt one of my daughters gave me: 'I brew beer. What is your contribution to society?'

I agree that was a very well written response. Also agree that the neighbor is a pretty cool guy. He also has the best looking house on the block IMHO.

Re: About time
Nice of him but WAY too late.
They should have at least given warning in advance, and made sure the forum had more features instead of less.
Regardless, I think it's too late. The Mr. B community will be a shadow of it's former self, and the borg shall live on here.
I'd rather support Louie at this point anyways. Mr B, while a great entry point, hasn't been brewed in my house since the original two batches.
I do love my LBKs though for the size.
Plus, this place is not biased towards any company.

Re: About time
I never would have started brewing if it was not for the MR B I received for Christmas when back when.................. I did not care for the first couple of batches. The first was Pilothouse Plisner, then a stout. After that kit sat on the shelf till the wife said something about that fact. Did some searching on the web and found the MR B forum & THE BORG . The first batch, Wicked Monk, come out pretty D@MN good with following the BORG directives. The following batches were modified with grains, DME, LME and full volume hop boils.jivex5k wrote:Nice of him but WAY too late.

Re: About time
Yeah, I'm of the same mind set. Love the people and love the site, so here to stay. All it would have taken was communication on their part on what was going on from the begining. That was all we asked, literally and we never got an answer.haerbob3 wrote:Regardless, I think it's too late. That's a good thing Bob, because usually you're just upsetting people.haerbob3 wrote:Damn I am gabby and !!!! guess the meds are working!
