More Stone fan-boy stuff

I'd love to be the bottling/art company that Stone uses. I bet they are busy 24/7.
Seems like the next new thing is barrel aged IPA's. Never had one so I'm not sure what to expect but those that know what I like to brew and drink know I'd give this one a try.

Say it's available 12/7. My fridge is full of beers this time of year. I need help drinking it all.

I'm going to sound like the nay-sayer here but I think I'd pass on this. gin and rye plus an IPA is a lot going on. Not that it wouldn't or couldn't be good, mind you. I'm just getting a bit burned out on barrel-aged this, and fermented with with that beers. Give me a simple, clean IPA any day and I'm happy. Not to take away anybody's fun here, of course. Stone does continue to push boundaries and limits. But, I'm finding that while I love Enjoy By and a few others in the line up, Stone for me is a lot of over-the-top brews.

Or maybe I'm just becoming the Grinch ;)

I'd like to try it.

I have had a couple of juniper pale ales that tasted really good.

Juniper can be a good replacement for a piney flavor hop. I know because I've done it - and will do it again. But barrel aged and 'Merican style IPA don't seem to be the best mix. If 'Merican IPAs are best enjoyed fresh so the hops pop... then they should be fresh... If it was a British style IPA (more bitter, less flavor/aroma from hops - more malt and yeast driven there) - then I could see the barrel being a good thing. So I dunno...
