It finally happened

The other day I had my brother in law over for a fish bbq, and as we were poking around in my workshop, he pulls out this box and asks why I have a box with some full beers in it? :o
I look, and sure enough, somehow in around 3 months ago when I moved into this new house, a box of freshly bottled beer had gotten misplaced and subsequently forgotten. Put some in the fridge, and wow what a difference 3 months makes as opposed to 1. It wasn't a fancy brew, just a mexican cervesa type. Sad to say it didn't last long once discovered. :fedora:

It is always awesome when the pipeline gets long enough that you can misplace a case of beer only to discover it down the road.

I love surprises! Yup, I thunk the cervesa was purty good after 3-4 months, but sucked green! I have found beers I put back 2-3 years, talk about awesome! No way I'm gonna start conditioning my brews 3 years though.... not intentionally. That would take one heck of a pipeline!

Whoa, you guys sound like you have some serious hoarding problems.
Look, I know it's difficult to admit you have a problem, but we can take it slow.
There are people who can, and want to help.
I will be personally pming you each an address where you can send your unnecessary beer.
And please, stay strong. You might not think you have a problem yet, but don't be like Jimmy O'Toole.
He waited and waited to admit he had a problem, and was eventually crushed by his own tower of homebrew.
Don't be like Jimmy! Help is here!

I don't know if you remember bpgreen from the MB forum. But he posted a couple of times that he would routinely condition beer for four months.

I used to think he was crazy, and wondered how anyone could have that much self-control. But once I got into making 5-gallon batches, and had a robust pipeline going, I found I was drinking the last of some batches four months down the road.

It makes a difference. It definitely makes a difference.

I have recently polished off the rest of my pre-move pipeline that was brewed in Feb/March and it was some damn fine beer. Witty Monk, Pilothouse and Diablo all got better with time. Diablo didn't really lose it's hops edge either but I dry hopped the hell out of it when I made it.

I wish BP would come over here. He had abandoned the MrB forum in June of 2012 and posts on HomeBrew Talk now, I think.

Being one of the ones who does remember BPGreen. I have to agree with you once you start doing fivers you can wait 4 months or more and it does make quite a difference :clink:

I'm in "the move" now. On hand, I have one, not two or three, but one home brew left on hand.
4 cases and a six pack went north with my son...survivability: unk.
When I get to Wa. there are the "survivors" to play with.
I will have to brew back to back and fill my fermenters.
