How we started the new year

A good friends son in law worked for Abita for years and moved to Placentia, Ca. to work for the Bruery. He came home for the holidays but planned well. He brought $750 of beer with him, worked with NOLA Brewery to take over their old/small taproom and had a wonderful tasting. They asked everyone who showed up to bring a bomber of something they liked if they wanted to.
I'm not a sour guy but have to say there were a number of them that I really enjoyed. I'm not sure if I'd want a bomber of any but it opened my mind and tastebuds to things I've not had.
I also know the new brewmaster at the local Gordon Biersch and he brought some growlers of his beers. One was a Session IPA that was very good. I'm hoping that one day, they do a guest brew and allow me to do it but who knows.
Here's a pic of just a few of what showed up. By the time everyone got there with their bombers, it was easily 2 1/2 times this much beer there and about 40 people all together.
