I joined again last year. I was a member in the late 80's and stopped when I stopped brewing then. It's a great organization.

Yup, I'm a member.
Unfortunately the most I get is a magazine every month, down in S. Florida AHA discounts are few and far between.
Northern Brewer doesn't even offer AHA discounts IIRC. Nor does my LHBS, or local brewery.
A not so local brewery about 30 minutes north of me does, but it's not practical to go their and TBH their beers are mediocre at best.

Actually, I just found out my membership expired 46 days ago! So, I used the link to re-up again. Thanks for the reminder and the "I should have had a V-8" moment.

I have been a member going on my third year now. I don't join for any benefits. I just join to contribute to the lobbyists protecting and expanding my rights as a home brewer.

Hmmm...Just checked my wallet, and my card says I expired a few months ago (ok 10 months ago). Guess I'll be using the link to re-join. Thanks!

Yeah that's why I don't mind joining despite the limited discounts.

Went out last night with a friend at a local watering hole that we go to all the time. Never even realized it was an AHA discounted place. Got 15% our beer and a meal. Not shabby at all.

We're going back next Thursday so I'll make good use of it.

That place also has a program that grows points and when you hit a certain level, you get a free party for 30 people....food and a keg for 3 hours. They had a party 2 years ago and they've already gotten within a few more months of getting credit for another party (to be held in the spring).

This is mostly my reason for membership, as well. They're busy looking after our interests, in a way we as individuals can't. At the Philadelphia Convention, the place went bananas over the announcement that this was the first year homebrewing was legal in all 50 states. And that's the AHA's doing right there.
