Kegerator (Keezer) Pics!

Post by JimH »

Well, I got some pictures of the kegerator for another post I was asking for some advice, and since I took the pictures I thought I would finally deliver on my promise to show them to the Borg. It kept me busy for a while and I haven't been posting often, but here it is. (Brewbirds, I believe you were the one demanding pics :p ) There will be a third tap to the left of those two here in about a week or two.

I guess I should also mention I am planning on painting the lid with Chalkboard paint so I can draw on it and label the taps, and I think I am going to paint the whole thing black with appliance paint. I think black will look much better than white, but I got the freezer on Craigslist, so I wasn't going to worry about color.

Thanks guys. I am pretty happy with it.

The other two things I want to upgrade is attaching a bottle opener, and a drip tray, but I am worried about putting holes in the freezer and poking a refrigerant line.

Craigslist, Craigslist.... I've used it very successfully for buying things - and have sold thousands of dollars worth of stuff on it.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Looks great, Jim! Very similar to my keezer, in fact. Take some measurements and see if you might be able to mount the drip tray on the collar. I was able to do that, but I might have used a wider piece of wood for the collar. Worth investigating, though.

Is your wood collar fixed in place? Find a piece of stainless steel, attach it to the wood under the taps, attach the drip tray to the bottom, ta da. Someone sells what I'm describing, I'll do some looking.
