I think I may have mentioned this a while back but after listening to Chris White on a few podcasts, I decided to give this a try and pre-ordered 2 of the WLP075 Hansen Ale Blend. I figured this might be a fun way to try new (old) yeasts..

The Hansen Blend does sound good. And so does the Buchner Blend.

According to the podcast with Chris White, yes they will. Of course, nothing will be shipped (nor will your credit card be hit) until and unless they reach their numbers.
And, shipping is by USPS for $3 and includes and ice pack. Should take only 2 days to arrive according to the web site.

So are you ordering directly from their website? How long did it take to get reviewed from them?

It's not really an order yet. If they meet the number shown by each yeast, they'll make it and release it. If not, that yeast will likely not be made. Once they make the quota, they may put it back in the vault for another 250-500 piece order.
They'll keep you updated via email when or if the yeast you order has made its sold quota.

Well, I'm confused by that. I ordered 2 of the WLP075 and it's $7.70 each. Which yeast did you order and how many?
Read the FAQs, #9.

The FAQ's say that it costs $3 per yeast package to ship. If he ordered 5, then that's the $15 shipping cost.

More than the old bottle packs had.
The wording on our PurePitch® packaging - 'Made to Contain over 100 Billion Cells' - is a target cell count number for each of our yeast packages. We specifically say “Made to Contain” because not all packages will contain more than 100 billion cells even though we target that number in our production and packaging processes. This is because of the reality of cell biology - cell sizes vary, cell packing varies, and since cells are microscopic, those small variations lead to large fluctuations in cell numbers.
Although the Pure Pitch® packages state a Cell net volume of 35 mL, the packages contain a minimum of 40 mL, with actual volumes ranging from 40 to 50 mL. Due to this reality, we will be adjusting the stated net volume on our packaging to reflect the 40 mL amount.
In our production, we allow for cell counts of 1.5 to 3.0 billion per milliliter which will produce 60 to 120 billion total cells if 40 mL. We target the high range of cell counts and fill volumes in our production and packaging processes, however as stated above, the reality of cell biology is that those numbers will vary.

And I assume these 'special' yeast vault paks are the same.

I guess that's a safe assumption.
Being that most are blends a Starter would not be recommended, so most 5 gallon beers will require at least 2 pacls
