Weight to volume conversion for LME and DME

Yes BrewDemon and Mr. Beer kits are pretty darn easy but sometime you need a little help from the Borg to get you on the right track. Post your questions here!

Weight to volume conversion for LME and DME

Post by bpgreen »

This may not be the best spot for this. If not, if an admin wants to move it, I won't be offended.

Recently, I had to come up with an approximate weight to measurement for DME, and went to a bookmark I made long ago. Alas, it didn't work, because it was using the old Mr Beer forum links. Instead, I googled and came up with an approximation that I wasn't comfortable with, but it was the best I had.

Googling for the thread wasn't much help.

Then I remembered that it was a response to a relatively early question I asked at the Mr Beer forums. So I went there, searched for my posts and went to the last page and worked back from there.

I finally found it. DRock's notes on weight to measurement approximation

And I see that I was right to suspect what I found using Google. Oh, well. It was close.

Also, reading some of my earliest posts was somewhat embarrassing. I was really clueless back then.

Thanks for the link. I actually was searching old posts on this forum for recipe ideas just today. I came across some of my old posts too. Some were goofy. But there were some highlights too.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.
