This is
Freaking Unbelievable While reorganizing a storage closet in the basement yesterday. I found a carboy full of beer. The attached stickie note was dated January 12, 2014
The beer is clear no floaties no skin on it. I tasted it. This beer is actually a bit flavorless a little bit of a malt flavor. Instead of pouring it out I am going to perform a
The Grand Experiment to turn this beer into a sour.

That is unbelievable. How can you account for going two full years without missing one of your carboys?
Anyway, your grand experiment is a noble venture. Props for not wrinkling up your nose and dumping the stuff down the drain.

The past 2 years have been a merry go round with the hospital. In for week, out for two, and in again. When I stashed that carboy was taking a lot of medications. A couple that made me very forgetful. I have finally reached the point where I feel like brewing again. When I started to have health issues I had 6 full kegs for the taps, 5 or 6 cases, plus the brew closets were full. My nephews and BIL took care of those for me. I guess those MR B kits I gave them paid off!! The one I found yesterday was stashed in a closet at the other end of the basement against the north facing wall. Dave I have a keg of beer for that time I need to either drink or dump.

That's pretty wild. Do you know what beer it was?
Have you started looking for that pot of gold you misplaced?

Yep a basic ale. There is no hop flavor too it, just a bit of malt. Which has me thinking that it was brewed to sour. This beer was at the other end of the house from my basement brew closet.

That's better than finding a $20 in your pocket!
And kudos to you as it speaks well to your sanitizing process that they beer is still good.

Shyte my wife and I found $883 that the original owners had stashed in the house. All the bills were crisp & were dated 1979. We were installing under the cabinet lighting when the cash was found. The old owners built a little hidey shelf under the cabinet.

And to think if I find a bottle or two somewhere I misplaced for a year, I'M in heaven. Must be well aged by now if no air got to it. Bob how do you loose/misplace a whole carboy of beer...
