BrewDog has been so grateful to release a publication of over 200 of their recipes. WOW....this is gonna be fun to go through these, and brew a couple also. A big thanks to BrewDog for allowing us home brewers to step into their world.

I think the only beer I've had from BrewDog is the Punk IPA. I think it's pretty old by the time we get any and it's just ok. Not bad, not great, just ok. I'm looking forward to trying more of their beers when they are 'all in' the US market. I certainly wasn't impressed with the stuff they did with our bayou water. But I know they must be doing something right growing as fast as they are.

It's nice of them to share these but I wonder exactly what they mean with their hop schedule, "start, middle end".

I asked that question on their blog comments section. I also noticed that none of the recipes give a boil time either. So I asked about that too. We'll see what the answer is.

Is the television show they had still on somewhere? They made some weird stuff on that show. Interesting but weird. They think innovative, I thought weird.

With regard to the hop timings, we went with 'Start Middle and End' to make the recipes as easy to follow as we could. With so much variation between our kit and the myriad options available to homebrewers around the world - not to mention the variables of hop harvest and other ingredients, we realise that some experimentation will be required to hit the exact highs - but then, that's what homebrewing is all about!"

Not much help but I guess that's the way they do things in Scotland.
Seriously, it's close enough to what many homebrewers do anyway. When I first started brewing in the stone ages, it was almost all 60, 45 and 30 minute additions and rarely was there any late additions. But, that was before the popular styles of beer selling now.

I have been browsing the recipes. I am sure to make the Fake Fix Double IPA. Which isn't a double IPA at all, it's a jacked up MILD with pliney the elder levels of hops. As in 3.5% That should make me feel better after a long hot bike ride. Yeah. EDIT: I will just likely consider the "Start" hops as "Middle" (15-20 minutes or so), the "Middle" hops to "End" (5 minutes or so, or maybe hopstand them) and hopstand or dry hop the "End" hops. Because that's how I roll IPAs these days. And that would temper the bite a bit but give it even MOAR flavor.

What a cool resource. I've found several that sound delicious!

I've been going through the recipes tonight too. There are quite a few that I've marked to make some day. Looks like my to brew list just got a lot bigger.

No kidding!!!! So many interesting recipes!!!

Brooklyn Brew Shop just put out a buy 3 recipes get 4 coupon code "mix it up", and one of their recipes is a 1G AG version of the BrewDogs Punk IPA so I put in my order for 4 of their IPAs including the Punk IPA. I'm eager to see how it goes and what it tastes like.
