What's your 2 row of choice?

I've tried them all and I can tell the difference. I like Rahr more than Briess and my LHBS usually has Great Western (which might actually be using other names). I don't think there's enough difference for me to spend more for another brand as they all have made great beer for me but I have noticed that some are better than others for my IPA's.

So, what's your 2 row of choice?

Alrighty, I'm gonna play noob here. There is a 2-row besides Briess? I know there's an english, american and canadian, but is not 2-row, well, 2-row?

Briess is all I've ever used/seen round here.

Gambrinus Pale Ale (1.8-2.8°L)
An excellent base malt for brewing all grain beers. Of the barley varieties grown in the western prairies of Canada, it is moderate in total protein, well modified, clean and smooth.

I don't have much experience in various 2-rows. That is to say, I'm not familiar with which maltsters produce the 2-row that my HBS carries. I have used American 2-row, UK 2-row, and Belgian 2-row from them. I think next year, I will try and brew the Blonde Ambition IV with each of those and see how the taste varies, which one makes a flavor I prefer.

Definitely Rahr. It works very well for me and it is only $35 for a 50lb sack plus $10 shipping through Midwest Supplies or Northern Brewer.

Started off using Rahr when I was ordering online. Then we got a LHBS in town abour 1.5 yr ago. They mainly carry Briess so that's what I use now. I do prefer the pale malt over the straight 2-row. It's kilned a little darker (3.5-4.0 vs 1.5-2.0), and I seem to get better results with it.

Depends on what you mean by 2-row. Imported Munich malt is also 2-row, so is Vienna, so is Pilsner. It's just kilned differently.

But for light kilned malts, I like my Belgian Pale malt (3.2Lish) or Maris Otter over any straight up American 2-row.

Yeah, you're correct, my bad. But, I meant the light malt....1.8-2.0 L.
Just emailed my LHBS and right now, it's Briess. He said he's changing based on what's available at the time. And, they went up about 8%. :(

Rahr - $44.80
Maris Otter - 66.82
Crisp - 44.80
Briess - 44.80
malting co of Ireland - 56.21
GWM - 42.70 (long wait)
Gwm organic - 57.40 (Long wait)

Just picked up a sack of Briess Pale Ale malt and one of Maris Otter. These seem to be my go to malts.

I've tried a few but I haven't tried the same recipe with different brands so I can't really compare.
