My kegerator is assembled, and functioning, so far. I had some challenges.
I got two kegs and a Danby 440 Christmas of '14. I've since added kegs, but I've been using picnic taps. Just recently, I bought a 2 tap SS tower. Simple, right? Not for me: I also bought a vintage brass tower, with some style. I thought I would just switch the hardware, but it turns out that the shanks are different sizes. And the old ones are soldered in place. Out comes the torch. I managed to melt loose one nut, but the shanks won't budge. Hmm, sawzall? dremel? Finally decided to just use the new taps on the old shanks. Clean all and test one, it leaks. More thinking, now the dremel? No, test the others. Fortunately, the brass tower is four tap, and two don't leak. Meanwhile I also decided I don't want the tank, and regulators in the back of the fridge. Too hard to get my big mitts in there for adjustment. So, I drilled holes in the hump as well as the top. Running gas lines hither, beer lines yon. Also, my new QDs did not arrive, Amazon sent them elsewhere. Then when I finally got it mostly together (still waiting on parts) and hooked up my Irish Red (St Patrick's parade on Sunday, people coming over) I had the tap open, so it splurted onto the fridge top. Cleaned up, filled a glass with foam (it's still warm)
That beer is good!

I still have to work on this thing. But we'll be drinking Sunday.

Having to work to make it come together is required for you to enjoy it more later.

Ok. I have those, too. Just never thought of them as QD.

I had more struggles with this: Leaky regulator assembly, wobbly couplers. I lost ten pounds of CO2. Got more new QDs, dis-assembled, taped and tightened the regulator assembly. But it finally seems air tight. And my guests loved it on Sunday.

I had some difficulties when I first put my keezer system together, too. I think it just comes with the territory. Even now, many moons later, there are still minor glitches from time to time. But, as with other types of hobbies we may have, it's not a set-it-and-forget-it dealio. There's maintenance to be done regularly, and spot-checks as needed.

The pay-off is having homebrew on tap, which is so cool, it defies mortal comprehension.
