This looks somewhat like the Bazooka I have that doesn't work and gets clogged very easily. How does this thing not get clogged up.
The price of $45 isn't outrageous but I'm not sure this alone will work as advertised.

That looks no different than SS braided hose one would pull off a water line like many use in a mashtun. I have heard a bazooka screen or one of these braided hoses works in a kettle for whole hops, but will clog with pellets. Could make your own for probably a quarter of the cost for that one.

I know what kind of junk is at the bottom of my kettle after transferring to the fermenter. Beer-lord uses more hops than me, so I can only imagine what his junk looks like.  :o

But it does say it's "plug resistant", and it's on the net, so it must be true.

My false bottom does a decent job of holding back a good deal of the particulate but the bazooka sucked and it looks like this product is just a variation of that. It does say it filters out hops but doesn't say only leaf hops and I'm with you, pellet funk looks like it will clog with this piece.

I try to keep my junk out of my kettle but thanks.

Based on the amount of trub I leave in the ketlle I would be amazed if this didn't plug up. But, I'm already producing very clear wort so I not seeing a reason *for me* to buy something like this.

But like Chris said, it's on the 'net so it must be true!
