Actually my excuse WAS that I couldn't get my wort cool enough to pitch the yeast. But since getting my pond pump I can now get my beer down to 60F no matter what the temperature of the ground water is.

Color me jealous. This was my first major mistake before I found you guys. (about 2+ months ago)
"Mr.Beer man" in the video had me thinking the basement here would be o.k. Hey, I was gullible! (When I checked it was 74°. When the heat wave of 90+ came 3 days later it went over 80° downstairs)

That's when the cooler came into play with some good knowledge after finding the BORG. Now, I'm tired of the baby sitting of ice blocks and constantly checking the thermometer. (what if I forget??)
So I think I've secured a nice spare 18 cu ft fridge off of Craigslist ($100) for the basement and will invest in a Ranco temp controller once it's up and working. Sometimes you just gotta' do what you gotta' do.

But after that $200 investment (oh, and a small heat pad for the winter) I should be good to go all the way up to a carboy one day possibly. At least a conical or 2 will fit!

Ok, had to google Kreskin. Sometimes I'm a good judge of character.

Really? You had to Google Kreskin? It must be the age differential! ;)

As far as character goes, you're spot on there too. Who are you? David Blaine?
