god I hate florida. I got the bug to brew and have to wait until the 'man' stops using chemtrails to make the world think there's global warming by creating an artificial crisis. :/ guess I have to make very small batches indoors like 1 gallon batches until then... and 30 min boils...

Console yourself that when it's in the single digits here, you'll be brewing in comfort outside, while I'll be doing stovetop.
It's been around 90 here too.

I feel ya 100% (and not just 100% humitidy). I've learned to just deal with it. In the summer, I start early and get it done before it gets the hottest though it's more humid then.
After I cut my lawn last night and came back to life with lots of water, I went outside about 6:30 and it didn't feel as bad as I thought even though I was spent. I wondered what it would be like to start at 6 and finish about 10:30 and might give that a try this summer.
But, it's definitely harder. It's longer too because it takes longer to chill the beer with 83 degree tap water then a pump and an full ice chest. However, I do enjoy the fruits of my labor a bit more for all the work.

Ugh, I'm with you--over 95* every day this week, with overnight lows in the 80s!?

It's almost bearable if you're in the shade and there's a breeze, but when you're in the sun (or near a heat source, like if you're brewing), UGH!

Glad I have the grainfather and can brew inside in the AC!

I had 4 months in a row this spring of lower electric bills and now that will end. The last few weeks have been brutal and my A/C almost never stops. I might have to borrow money from the church offerings to pay this months electric bill.
We also broke a record for the highest 'lows' 7 days (nights) in a row but I think tonite will be another one.

Brew some Saisons with Wyeast 3724 or WLP565.

It will be very happy at your temps.

Ya could have our problem. Mid 70s to mid 80s all next week, and nights in mid 50s. But with all our hot weather, the dayum skeeters are thick enough to pick up a dog and carry him off. Perfect for brewing.

I have to work outdoors all day (and I'm talking 10-hour days now), so I've been suffering greatly this past week. I've still been brewing, but it's very uncomfortable in the kitchen when I do, and my cellar temps are in the low 70s; warmer than I'd like for fermenting.

Hate to say it but y'all are insulting my favorite season something terrible!
I really despise cold weather the older i get, but I've always tolerated heat better
than cold and here in Central Va...the humidity is brutal from June until September.
I know from experience, you guys in the deep South really suffer this time of year, more
so than we do.

When I worked graveyard, I would brew in the middle of the night... much cooler but more bugs
if you left the outside light on. Solved that with my BIAB bag over the kettle until it
started boiling.

Fermenting this time of year is good too, I have a room in the basement that stays in the low 60's with the air on.
In fact, it stays about that temp most of the year!

Some people can tolerate humidity better than others.

I'm one of the others. Can't tolerate humid weather.

I grew up in Illinois and humidity never bothered me that much. But I've lived in Utah for more than 20 years, now, and 10% is considered high humidity here, so it really gets to me when I travel someplace that's humid.

crisis temporarily averted... converted a hefeweizen to a 30 min boil, adjusted hops ... made a 2 gallon batch that I have used yeast that I harvested. first time doing that and tada.. it worked. after being in the fridge for almost a month, the wlp300 woke up and went nuts even without a starter. 12hrs to get started then nonstop yeast farts faster than the cowbell rhythm on BOC don't fear the reaper. 24 hrs later the farts are gone so I suspect they are in clean up mode already. the only problem is the stove takes an hour to bring something to a boil so between my ac bill and the stove bill...

..and much to my 'happiness' I smell bananas coming from the chiller box despite a slight overpitch.
