The other day while at work....a trauma comes in. One of those pavers from the DOT had smashed a guy. Its basically a 6 foot roller made of steel and the inner area is filled with water I suppose. Its an opposing piece of equipment to say the least. 30 yr old male was rolling asphault and the thing malfunctioned or something and cars were coming the other way so he veered the other way which was a creek bed 10 feet below. Flipped him over and the thing landed on him. Just as a guess as driving by one of these, Id say 7ton+ probably more falling on you.. Arms and legs shattered and fractures to C7(very dicey place at base of neck and inside torso area) and L1-L2(lumbar/lower back). Hes in ICU but just this evening hes showing miraculous signs of recovery and we're betting he walks outta the hospital. His limbs will be titanium but a FULL recovery is staring right at him. No limitations whatsoever are predicted. Everyone is just over the moon for this guy.

I think I saw a blip on the news about this but there was very little info.
Very lucky man indeed if he walks out in good health.

It is amazing what modern medicine, with the help of God, can do.

And sometimes how fragile is life. During my career I saw men who had been killed with a bottle, a nail-gun, a single shot from a .22. I also arrested a couple with multiple bullet scars on their torso, and I interviewed two women with fresh shots to their heads. Both survived without any apparent ill effect. I hope your accident victim does as well.
