Job Opportunity

The Smithsonian Will Pay Someone $64,000 a Year to Drink (and Research) Beer

The museum is looking to document the craft beer movement. Beer nerds, it may be time to dust off your resume: The Smithsonian is hiring a beer historian. The hoppy gig, which will pay $64,650 a year and includes benefits, is a new role for the Museum of American History...

Might be a good gig for someone here on the Borg! :barman:

What an awful job. So you meet up with friends in the evening and have to say, "Sorry, I had to drink at work all day, I'll just have water with lemon, thank you."

Gosh, and I thought my beer job was cool! We don't get to drink on the job (except at our quarterly division meetings), but at least the corporate pub is open every day at 4:30pm. :orderbeer:

Good luck with that commute in to your job every day because 64k is maybe getting you a 600sf 1 bedroom shanty in DC.

My wife mentioned this to me a few days back. I'd need 6 figures to consider that gig at that location.

I don't think anyone could pay me enough to live in or near DC.

I don't see any reason why this couldn't be a "work from home" type of job. I mean that's where I do some of my best drinking, um I mean work! ;)

$64 k in the DC area? That's below minimum wage isn't it?
