For those without a good thermometer, looks to be a good and very reasonable option.

I have the much more expensive version but many can attest to ThermoWorks quality, accuracy and speed. For $29 it's a good one to have as a spare.

I agree, they work great. They run specials every now and then if you are on their email list. I just picked up two purple ones for $20 each. Gave one to a friend after we had a lengthy discussion on grilled meat temperature that she had no way of checking.
