Be on the lookout for Lallemand's newest Dry Yeast offering:

London ESB

It ought to be a winner!

If it's as good of a yeast as Bella or Abbaye, it will become one of my staples.

I like London ESB in general...

So, I suspect it's substantially the same as the popular liquid offerings...

Hence, it should perform equitably.

If I see it locally, I'll probably add one or two to my yeast bank.

Always wanted to try an (East Coast American) IPA with it anyway...

I'm hoping it's like Wyeast 1968--love that yeast!

But considering that S-04 does an ok job of pretending to be an ESB yeast, I'm pretty excited to see what this can do!

I hope that when fermented warm it has better ester profile then S-04, more like actual London ESB.

I know lots of you use Wyeast London ESB at 64 to make clean beer with a more malty profile then S-05 (so do I sometimes), but that's not a real English ESB, and London ESB makes a nice authentic English style beer at 68-72, where S-04 gets a bit weird when warm. So I'm hoping for something more like that, so it's a nice multi-purpose yeast.

I plan on giving the Danstar ESB dry yeast a try. I have an English Bitter on my mind and that would be perfect to try it out in. If it works well, it could be a go to for Porters and Stouts as well. For those I usually end up with S-04 but the only thing I really like S-04 used for is my Ordinary Bitter where the "bready" character goes well with the beer.

Anyone tried this out yet?

I would have tried it already but the only place that I know of that has it is Farmhouse Supplies, but I have Beer-Lord levels of hops in my freezer at the moment, so have not had a reason to order from them.

Farmhouse is a great place to buy hops and everything else (though they are not a homebrew type store like the other guys). Great service and quality.
But, I've stuck by my promise not to buy any new hops until 2017 gets here and use what I have.......which is still alot. Not that size, or in this case, weight, really matters. :o

Austin Homebrew supply has it as well. I will probably order some up just to have it when I want it. I can see it being hard to come by if it takes off as a great yeast.

I ordered a pack of the Danstar ESB. Not sure what I will try it out in just yet but I wanted to have it on hand for when I do. It will most likely be a Porter or possibly an English Bitter.

I keep bumping this thread, has anyone else tried this one out yet?
