I have a CO2 regulator that has been idle for a while

gotta think I should clean and sanitize it throughout
How would you go about that?
Is it ok to run oxiclean through it then run sanitizer through?

Ooh. I don't know, but I would think you wouldn't want to run liquid through gauges that are built for gas. But what do I know. I'll watch this thread for sure, as I'm curious to see what the remarks will be.

Hopefully, Whamolagen will see this thread. He's got plenty good plumbing experience. I'd trust his expertise. Maybe you could PM him.

How about a soft brush and a can of air? Maybe a small brush like a bottle brush or hose brush.

^^This^^

If it were mine, I'd wipe it down with a damp rag, run some Co2 through it and call it done.

I believe the check valve is designed to stop liquid from entering, at least the wrong way. You don't want liquids in it.

If Whamo thinks it's a good idea, then I'd go with that.

You definitely don't want to use liquid in the regulator. A can of compressed air to blow out any dust.

You definitely want to clean them on occasion by taking apart and wiping clean.

Here is an example of what one can look at if not cleaned for a while.
