Want to give all a heads up to try to plan. Looks like the Borg Meet Up is happening again!!! This time we are going back to Asheville Feb 3rd - Feb 7th 2017. Paul is working on some tours which will be posted as we get closer and the venues confirm. I have a link to Hotels in Asheville that are within minutes of the Home Base House where we will meet for pre and post tour get togethers and tastings, and will also have the Super Bowl Feast there. Please try to join us for a day trip, weekend trip or the whole time.

Kilts Optional for Super Bowl Sunday.

I thought Kilts were required for Super Bowl Sunday?? This should be a fun trip again. Hopefully we'll get to meet some new Borg members this year. Please consider making the trip if you can. It a great time!!

That weekend is always sketchy for me as I'm often baby sitting a bunch of dogs, but if I'm not I'm there. Otherwise I'll send a couple of different "Abbey Gruits" with Dawg for everyone to try because they are different then anything anyone else will bring and are good.

Would love to meet you in person Dave though we did enjoy your kind gifts last year. Hope you can make it.

There should be some laws about kilts too! You'd think with cold weather you'd not have to explain that underwear is a requirement!

I am really bumming! I have an other commitment and will not be able to make it this year.

If anyone is on the fence about going to this year's Borg Meet Up, it is really a great time. It's a wonderful group to spend time with and Ashville is an amazing place with a wonderful beer culture. My brother who went last year said he learned more about beer and brewing in that one weekend than he has ever know about beer. If I didn't have a beer that was going to be on tab at Arbor brewing that weekend for a competition I wouldn't think twice about going.

Wait? What? So the same yahoo's I suffered through last time are gonna be there this time. Crap........I really need to read the fine print.

Leigh, sorry you and Gary can't make it this time. We really enjoyed having you there. But a HUGE congratulations on the tapping of your beer. That's awesome!

Paul, once you wear a kilt the "proper" way you will never go back.

Besides, you can always use the "shrinkage do to cold" excuse. In the summer, well you're on your own.

We are getting closer to the trip to Asheville. As some of you may have seen in another thread, ScrewyBrewer and his wife will be joining this year!!! I thought I would update this thread to invite anybody else that may be able to make the trip for any amount of time.

Bring a kilt. Oh, and some beer.

We will definitely bring beer, good cheer and tales of far away places but not likely to have kilts with us this trip though . We just about have our hotel reservations in, should have them confirmed by Monday. If someone can PM me the address of the house and an itinerary at some point that would be very helpful.

Stay tuned for sure, also might want to start getting tuned up!!! You are in for a great time! When I first walked in @ Nashville in '15 it was like old friends meeting up for the weekly night out.

Steve, you hit the OLD part, right on the head.

I swear my liver was not happy with me for quite a while but it did recover. I'm really bummed that I can't make it this time 'round.

Talking to my BIL yesterday he said Asheville was a happening place. With a high concentration of craft beer it is known as a crossroads where beer lovers from surrounding states go to enjoy themselves. I am more excited now than ever to drive down and meet you all in person for the very first time.

It's a fantastic place. I can't wait to get down there again. And to meet new friends!!
