I'm not quite sure yet actually. I'm thinking about stopping at the store today and picking up a Saison of some sort.

How about you, what will you be pairing with your turkey dinner tomorrow?

Gravy!

Beyond that, not sure...

I'll most likely be the DD so I'll prolly drink water.

(I'll stash the best of the best though for when I'm done shuttling folks around.) ;)

:p

I may have some wine with dinner and later in the afternoon when my fat tummy has had enough food, enjoy a beer or two.....I feel like drinking something dark and chewy. Might have a Rasputin Imperial Stout.

I'm thinking my sour heather ale would be nice to wash down the heavy stuff.

IF I eat too much (and I usually do on T day!) I'm usually too full to truly enjoy a good beer afterwards. I may just stick with wine on Thursday and save more of my good stuff for the weekend

Got my Back to Basics Blonde on tap in the new mini keg (first kegged homebrew for me!). Keeping it light, crisp, and easy drinking so we don't take too much away from the meal.

Since the relatives from NC are in, it appears it will be something from Wicked Weed...

So far, the imperial pumpkin (with cacao, chiles, and spices) was quite good (and I'm not a pumpkin beer fan)...

Now this one... bourbon barrel, coffee, vanilla, and sour? Whut? How should that work together? Really does though... Wow...

My mother in-law was against drinking because many in her family were alcoholics. She didn't understand that it's a disease for some, and everyone else can drink just fine. For our wedding decades ago, she wanted no booze. I told her either there would be booze, or there would be no wedding for her to attend. At our reception I went up to the bar and asked for a beer. The bartender said, "are you the groom?" I said yes, and he handed me a beer out of a case marked "groom only". Seems my mother in-law had adapted.

It's my house - if I want a beer I'll have a beer. I would never let a guest push their values on me, in my house. Of course, if they are alcoholics, then drinking in front of them would be unacceptable.

That reminds me, it's 11:50, dinner is at 2. What beer am I having shortly?

The question at this point... What are we not drinking? My cellar taking a serious hit, but I'm happy for that. Beer is to share... Looks like the New Holland is getting the 'with turkey' honors...

I actually drank and ATE my sour Leann Fraoich. I used some of it to turn some crappy beer bread mix someone gave me for my birthday into "sourdough" cheddar and chive biscuits by using it as the beer and adding the chedder and chives and a splash of tabasco. This worked out very nicely and turned the yucky beer bread into good eats.

I actually am really liking the beer on its own too. For a totally unintentional sour it's pretty nice.

Hey Rick, I feel the same way.My home,my rules, but the guests that were my Step-D and her brood.Super "Churchified".Don't even like to be in the same room as someone drinking. It's alittle rough for me b/c our beliefs are so far apart.Anyways to make it a nicer T-Giving,I refrained from drinking beer. But,what I did was continually refill my "Crystal Skull" mug with Country Time lemonade and vodka which they couldn't smell. Believe me it made the evening go better. Later ,after they left,I tore into some homebrews and a few Rivertowne(Pittsburgh) Brewery's "Jah Mon" IPA's while watching the Steelers game.Hope you had a nice holiday.Cheers :)

Randy...way to be the "better person" in that situation. Sounds like you didn't let it ruin your day either.
