On the surface, it sounds good but why am I doubtful?

Very interesting. I watched one of the video's on their facebook page. It seemed to clog up pretty good when he was going from boil kettle to fermentor. He had to stop and clean it out and sanitize it at least once. That seems like a little PITA to me, but I would be curious to see how it would work going from fermentor to keg. For me, I'm thinking since most of the sludge would go through towards the end of the siphon it might help in transferring clearer beer to the keg. HHmmmm. Since you brought this up Paul, it would make a great Christmas present from you to me.

Looks too small and the screen is not fine enough to catch trub I am sure.

I use a nice strainer going to the fermenter and cold crash and I'm perfectly happy but, it might be good for those times I may not have time to cold crash though I agree with Wham, the screen doesn't look that fine but if it were, it would definitely clock more. My hand strainer needs to be emptied 2-3 times going to the fermenter so......
Chris, I posted this so someone would GIFT IT TO ME! You are a SCROOGE!

Don't have time to cold crash? What are you talking about? Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
Or if you prefer,
"If you don't have time to do it right, when are you going to have time to re-do it?"
Ok, joking aside now - I've used screens in the past that looked about that "big" and they caught trub just fine. Between using Whirfloc and the hop matter it was plenty big enough to get stuck.
I'm a fan of time over filtering just because it's "easier" in my book and fits my schedule. If I want to accelerate time I use gelatin and then no filter is required as that stuff compacts perfectly.
But, I'm always for anything that helps somebody do things faster/better/easier - or if they just think it's a fun toy
