Brewing an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Stout on the 5 barrel system at Liberty Street Brewing Co with two guys from my homebrew club. This recipe will be on the new Sons of Liberty guest tap that the owner/head brewer has graciously allowed us to start. This should be on tap at the end of January or beginning of February.

I don't remember being kidnapped, mixed with cinnamon and raisins, and sniffed before I woke up, but it sure sounds good.

Man brewing professionally is a lot different from homebrewing, but it was a lot of fun and a great experience. I got to the brewery at about 6am and we finished up about 2:30ish. Spending the day with Joe Walters (owner/head brewer) and 2 of other Sons of Liberty Club members and it was a great learning experience. Joe had some great little tips and tricks that he shared throughout the day that he used both when he was homebrewing and now as a pro. He also was very receptive to hearing our advice as brewers.
Here are some pics of the day. I had hoped to take more but I was to busy shlepping grain in and out of the mash tun.

So, on Monday at our homebrew club's monthly meeting we had the tapping/tasting party of this Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Stout and it turned out fantastic.

I'm really proud to have been part of getting this one on tap there at the brewpub and hopefully this won't be the last beer we are able to collaborate on for the guest tap.

I'm not a big stout fan, but that looks like something I'd really like. Congratulations, Leigh! What a great experience to have!
