A moment of silence please

Today, I accidently broke my very first hydrometer from 1978!!!! You diaper wearing babies just think about that for a second. This isn't the first Apple computer of a version of MS-DOS, this a hydrometer. It's an historic piece of beeristry. Do you even fathom that? Heck, when I bought this in college, global warming wasn't even thought off. Trump was not even a narcissist then! The Saints had already lost almost every game they played! Do I need to go on and on and on?
It gave it's life to gravity both original and final and though I wanted to save it's pieces, I gave it a good resting place.

The first Star Trek movie had not come out. My hair was still long. My current car was built that year.
Just remember the time you had together.

So what you're saying is you lost it in 1978, found it this weekend, got so excited you started shaking and dropped it? HAHA. Still have the one I started with along with the backup, but these days I use the refractometer. In 1978 I just bought a brand new Camaro LT and was drag racing a 1964 Chevelle a buddy and me chopped up to put a cage in and narrow the frame, how stupid we were the frame and body were pretty solid and who knew that $100 car could be worth 20-30 G today

I don't think he said that at all. I think he said that with his advanced age, he broke it because his hands shake, and that he has to wear diapers because sometimes at his age he can't get to the bathroom fast enough. Gotta read between the lines.
Must be old to be in college in 1978. Wait! I was in college in 1978! Crap!

We are here to protect your beer and your computer. You should now go to your bank, get a Cashier's check made out to RickBeer, and mail it to me with all of your savings. Then, in a few weeks when your children want to know where your money went, simply tell them "I gave it to Rick to buy beer".

Sorry for your loss BL. that's a long time to be with your first. My first wasn't until 2010 and she didn't last long in my hands, only a few brews and then she slipped away. Luckly I took the advice from some of the old good members on the MB forum and had two and a replacement was there when needed. Since then I've had a few more and got a couple I really like now and I am way more careful handling them.......

You will never forget her....your first. The way her curves looked in the sunshine. ....the way she felt in your hands.....the way she told you exactly what you wanted her to.
She lived to serve you, asking nothing in return but your gentle touch and for you to protect her. You may have have had others, some even with more expensive parts...but you will never forget your first.
