Having a good dehydrator is useful, I use mine a lot this time of year. Dried some pumpkin seeds the other day and making some venison jerky today to use up the deer meat from last year and a snack to take with me hunting this year,

Cool.
I have thought of one for drying hops, but I don't really pick that many.

I completely agree. Especially that it should be a GOOD one.
I bought a couple of cheap dehydrators from harbor freight (it was cheaper to buy a second dehydrator than to buy additional trays for the first one).
Then my brother told me that when his dehydrator kicked the bucket, he got one with temperature control and started using half as many hops as he had with the other one by drying at a lower temperature.
So when I saw a good deal, I snapped up Sedona digital dehydrator. I can set the temperature anywhere from 85 to 155 F, and it has two fans that can be set to day or night (high or low).
I bought it for my hops, but I use it for a lot of other things as well (same thing happened with my vacuum sealer).

Yes.
I've had a couple of the round plastic ones and although they work they don't hold much and not much for temp. control and they didn't seem to last very long. The one I got now is quite old and not digital, the temp. range is 85 -145 deg. has a 24 hour timer and a choice between open and closed recirculation. It will hold up to 10 lbs. of jerky, it was full on the last batch and ran it for 12 hours on 145. I want to get a meat slicer so I can make the cuts thinner and more precision and would be safer for the fingers then the way I slice it on the cutting board.
We have found so many uses for it over the years from fruits and vegetables, seeds, hops and a lot of jerky.

Ended up with around 3 lbs of jerky out of 10
It doesn’t look like much but there’s quite a bit of jerky in the bags.
