Climate Change Hurting Craft Breweries?

I'm not sure we can absolutely go from "droughts" to "climate change" without looking at maybe just historical weather patterns, since we haven't been on this planet since the beginning, but if hops are hurting, this ain't a good thing.

I know that here in CA the weather patterns have changed over the past 5 years, for sure. What used to be the exception is becoming the norm.

If we really do have a shortage of hops, it will be interesting to see if breweries charge more, start producing more styles that require less hops (away from the IPA craze now), or continue to find ways to get better utilization from hops in an effort to use less.

Whatever the cause, weather affects crops, shortages affect price.
But more areas are growing hops to keep up with demand.

Never mind, there it is.

Last I heard hops were OK cause of more large growers coming on line that are not contracting exclusively with BMC's and BA was working on some stuff too.
