We can't check into the house until 3 PM. I'll know within 24 hours before that if we can get in any earlier.

Those look like pretty good deals.

I personally would love to get down to see Mantra. The tour and 8 glasses for $68 would work perfect...because there will be 8 of us. 9 if you go Swen, but somehow I think you'll get the "I Know a Guy" special!!! It would be awesome if we could get the "We Know a Guy Who Knows a Guy Special"

EDIT...I just looked at Tailgate's website. They have a note that says: "Join us in our taprooms every Monday for 1/2 price pizza!". So it might be a great place to meet when we get into town for a late lunch or early dinner.

EDIT, EDIT...they do not offer tours at their Music Row location. Tours are available at their brewery location (different from Music Row) on Saturdays and Sundays.

Exactly... the Music Row location is a restaurant/taproom, while the Bellevue location is the actual brewery (with a taproom/restaurant attached). They are opening a third restaurant location in East Nasty next year.

I'll note that the Music Row location has 50 taps (mostly their own beers, though they have some guest taps). They aren't in my top 10 in breweries in town, but they have good beers and good pizzas, and are one of the few breweries that actually have a kitchen, so that's nice. Tennessee Brew Works is another brewery that has a kitchen, while Blackstone has a permanent food bus outside and others have food trucks regularly.

Side note: here's the Brew Dogs episode at TN Brew Works. They aged a beer on a poplar guitar carboy... yeah, it was just so-so.

They also visited the OG hot chicken place, Prince's...

And powered the brewday with music (electricity produced by sound by Arc and Stones)...

Two months away fellers!!! Saw that Brewdogs episode. Can't wait to get in and see how everything has evolved since 2015, and Mantra sounds like a plan to me.

This will bring many of us back full circle. I have FOND memories of that nice little house I shared with a few of you and the nice "events" we held there. Who knew that it would grow to be this.......from a 'small' house to the 'mansions' we're getting too spoiled to leave :jumpy:

My wife always said she wanted to see Nashville and since she's met these guys, well, i'll likely never be able to go alone again.

Chris and Paul, your time is coming.

On a sadder note, it was also when I met JJ and am SURE GLAD I DID!

When I read this first sentence the last sentence went through my head before I read the last sentence.
I remember that night years ago. I remember all of us standing on the porch when he got out of his truck and started walking towards us. A large gentle man with not a hurry in his step. He greeted us all just like old friends he hadn't seen for awhile even though none of us had ever met him before.

One night while we are at the house we will walk out the front door and raise our glass to our gentle giant friend.

Jeff, you make me cry! As always, you seem to have a way to make things come back full circle...to find the BIG thing that's important....to say it the way it should be said. You are a solid friend. And so was Jim.

We OWE it to Jim finish what we started.....NO, to CONTINUE what we started the FIRST year and the FIRST time we met him. We will have a quiet moment in HONOR of him and make a commitment to never forget him or what we have together. In the first place we met and in the PLACE we continue this journey.

JJ, you will not be forgotten. Nor will our Borg friendship.

Anyone want to come out this weekend and get some Southern Grist goodness? ;) Neapolitan Complex imperial stout with strawberries, vanilla beans, and chocolate. Well... maybe they'll have a release when you all are in town... $8/bottle is hard to beat for these goodies...

Nashville cracks the top 25 for the first time, landing at #23 in the "Best Cities for Beer Drinkers" ranking. 22 breweries in town now... Drink up, boys...

How did NOLA get in this list and a pint for $3.25? I'm not sure you can get a pint of Coors for that much less craft beer but I like the list nonetheless.
Wow, Nashville has 22 micros now I see. I don't think 3 years ago there were much more than half that amount. Your in the wrong business Swen!

I have no doubt that all the cities on this list are great places for craft beer drinkers but I really think that it missing a few cities that should be on the list such as Grand Rapids Michigan which has nearly 60 breweries and is the reigning Beer City USA since it was the last one officially crowned! Also Columbus, OH was #6 on the list the previous year and was completely left off the list this time around? Seriously?!?!?

I am still looking at flights and considering. If I can find a good enough deal I'll fly down. My old police partner John might drive or fly from Raleigh NC too. We plan to find a hotel and room together. I hope the possible addition of two more doesn't throw off any plans. I'll update as soon as I'm sure either way.
