Harvesting Wild Yeast?

Our visit to Bootleg Biology was very interesting and inspiring. I want to capture and propagate wild yeast, separating it from any other organisms. Have any of you done this? Can you recommend literature or websites? What equipment did you use? Thanks.

Hey John...did you go to Bootleg Biology's website? They have a kit you can buy that has all the equipment you need. There are also a couple of video's on how to do it. It's pretty cool.

Did you see this story about Lithology Brewery in Long Island? They have been brewing a Framhouse Ale with local wild yeast.

Thanks guys. I'll do some reading and scheming. I won't try this until there is fruit on bushes and vines, so I have plenty of time. I am considering BB's kit, though I hope to do it more economically.

Bootleg's site is a great resource. I also recommend Milk the Funk (http://www.milkthefunk.com/) and Mad Fermentationist (https://www.themadfermentationist.com/2 ... rters.html)
