Pale

Post by FrozenInTime »

Finally got to an lhbs but they were out of 2row. Picked up 50 lbs of pale. Will this work well in it's place? Adjusting my recipes won't be a problem but I've never used it place of 2row. Will it work ok?

Yes, it will work ok, but it is different. Lookup the brand you bought and you should find that its slightly darker and sweeter.

Many people will use it interchangeably but they are different. For sure they are kilned to different lovibond.
However, depending on the recipe, you might not notice it all that much. Or, you might like it so much, you keep buying it.

Thanks, I look forward to trying it. Quite a drive to get it, I was there for a VA appt. (Fargo). It looks to be a tad darker but not enough I will give a darn. I'm all about the taste. I'm sure I can adjust the weight using BeerSmith but I don't think it will be much different. I soooo need to brew, tomorrow I am committed to an ice fishing trip so maybe thurs? Gotta do it! Need to have some fun and not feel like it's a chore.
