I’m thinking of brewing a 3.5 gallon batch IPA on my M and B with the plan of splitting the wort into (3) one gallon single hop batches. I would use the same bittering hop for each batch and all the rest of the hop additions would be at a hopstand of around 170 for 30-40 minutes. I’ll add two dry hop additions. I want to try out the new hop varieties that I just bought. I think I’ll use Azzaca, Mandarina and Motueka hops for the individual hops per batch.
If I drain off 2 gallons at the end of the boil into two separate fermenters I think the wort temperature will drop to around 170 and I can add the hop stand right away. The remaining 1.5 gallon of wort in the M and B will drop to 170 pretty fast given the small volume. The M B cooled batch will probably be a little more bitter because of the longer cool down time. It’s hard to keep everything equal but this isn’t a science project.
How’s this plan seem?

Sounds ok to me.
I'm going to do something similar over the summer, but it will be 5.5 gallon batches split between 2 fermenters. Some with different hops, some with different candi syrups, or yeasts.

I think this plan is awful. One of the major tenants of brewing is SANITATION. You simply can't spit in your beer and think that it's going to come out good. Spit in one batch, and not the other? Really?
What? He meant SPLIT batch brew test, not SPIT batch brew test?

That’s how I get my signature brewhouse flavor!

@RickBeer:
You don't know about the people who chew corn and spit it into a container to make beer?
Yes, you can do that.
If you want to.
People do.
Your mouth enzymes convert the starches.

I just noticed that I wrote “ spit batch”. Funny! I was wondering where the jokes were coming from.

You can get your enzymes anywhere you want, I'll pass.

Sounds like a great idea Banjo! Will for sure give you what each hop brings to the table.
If he has sanitation problems I think he needs to call a plumber, but I think he has the sanitizing process down.
