I have multiple Brew Demon beers that had bottle conditioned and bottle got hard. After months of conditioning some of the cheap bottle kit caps caused me to have soft bottles now. Can i add lil sugar again to it and try carb it up again? Or will it taste funky. I had a few that i just put in fridge and drank it , but it not like the carbonated ones . Also how long if it was carb and lost carb before it is bad? Im not sure how long some leaked and went soft . If can be recarbonated, will the ones in fridge can be also after yeast got cold for few days? Thanks for any replies in advance.

If they have lost carb, remove/leave out of fridge and put in a little sugar. Give a couple weeks then try again. I always put those bottles in a rubber-maid type container just in case a cap leaks. There is enough yeasties left to carb. As when brewed/bottled, sanitize-sanitize-sanitize.

Don't be surprised if you pour sugar in and the bottle foams over. Sugar cubes would be better.
Carbonation doesn't stop a beer from going bad.

Same as putting a Mentos candy in a carbonated soda.
The sugar granules provide nucleation sites for the CO2 to form on. That forming foams up and out. Sugar cube dissolves slowly, avoiding the problem.
Same reason why a beer glass with etching on the bottom makes a better head on the beer when it's poured in.
