Very simple recipe, inspired by Two Hearted Ale but the keg hops I added changed it up quite a bit, turning it very danky, hence the name. 4 Gal batch, kind of a test run.

85% Two Row
10% Vienna
5% Crystal 40

1 oz Columbus 60 min to around 60 IBU's
3 oz Centennial 30 min hopstand around 180*
Keg hopped 1 oz each Citra and Mosaic after fermentation and carbonation.

Danstar Bry-97 pitched around 68* fermented 66-68*.
Water was filtered tap: Ca: 35, Mg: 12, Na: 8, Cl: 18, So4: 24
Mash temp ~ 152* Mash ph ~ 5.4

Natrually carbonated, added the hops to hop sacs, been in the keg the whole time.

That's awesome. Congratulations.

Question on your keg hopping...Did you leave those in for a period of time, or just put them in the keg and leave them there?

Ok well I have been doing things different for the past year or so. I now ferment in my corny kegs. I go from fermentation, naturally carbonate (spunding) and then serve all in the same keg. No transfers (at all), and except for keg hopping, the beer is never expossed to oxygen post fermentation. But with keg hopping I added them after fermentation and after carbonation. With the headspace full of co2 I believe it helps to minimize the oxidation. The beer was drinkable and was already a couple weeks post fermention when I bled the co2 popped the lid and added the hops in hop sacs. They have been in for several weeks now, this whole time. No off flavors, no grassy notes...all pure fresh hop flavor and incredible aroma. These beers we're brewed on June 11th. So they are around 10 weeks old and the keg hops have been in about 6. Again no funky flavors, no grassy notes, and no autolysis from the yeast. The beer is still sitting on the original yeast cake. If anything the changes to my process have improved my beer s and debunked a lot of myth in my opinion.

I'll note that I use floating pick up tubes that pull beer from the top rather than the bottom of my kegs so the hop character is right there on every pour of the keg.

Intersting...thanks for the info. I think I've only keg hopped once. I don't remember it giving off any grassy or off flavors either.

I've never seen floating pick up tubes...on my way to the internet to see one!!!

BlackDuck, here ya go. https://www.morebeer.com/products/repla ... aurus.html

These are a fraction of the price of the more well known Clear Beer Draft System. These are easy to use just need to have an extra gas tube to use in place of the beer tube. I also have upgraded the hose, same ID but thicker wall silicone to eliminate any chance of kinking and they have worked well.
