What's that smell?

Post by myhorselikesbeer »

Never had that complaint when fermenting my beer, other than when doing hops boils.

Two batches going at once...elderberry/blackberry and red grape/wild fox grape blends. Room smells like a case of blackberry brandy was spilled.

Wine definitely smells different than beer. When smelling right out of the airlock it smells fine, but in the room many times I will get a sulphur smell. I use to get nervous about what it was, but now I think "Mmmmmmm, yeasties are making wine."
