Where are they now?

Post by Beer-lord »

Recently I was wondering where some of original Borg have been up to. Feel free to add a name of those you remember from years back and maybe someone is in contact with them and can let us know how they are doing and if they are still brewing.
Here's just a few I thought about recently?
gymrat, brewbirds, gwcr and BigPapaG.

I always wonder this too sometimes but people move on. I can tell you gymrat is retired, still brewing and playing his guitars, He has been a FB friend of mine for quite awhile with me and we interact most daily, why he doesn't come here anymore? I never really asked him. I have been wondering about BigPapaG, I have never met him in person but we talked a lot and lives less then a hour away from me in western NY. brewbirds? I wonder about her health and maybe not making and drinking beer anymore. There are a lots of names I wonder about and where they went. I hope this thread can give some answers.

Last I knew of with BigPapaG there were some family medical things going on.

Gymrat I see on FB, he is a Mash & Boil user now too.

Always wanted to meet the Birds, but have no clue what is up with them or even where they are these days.

gwcar, I think is out caroling or something: (really I have no clue about him)

Yankeedag aka:Clyde, is a FB friend I hear from every once in a while. He's been on the move pretty much since his last post here as far as I can tell.

It is fun to go to this page: memberlist.php read though it and think of some of the interaction you had with some of these folks we don't see on here now. I have exchanged beer with a lot that I have not seen post in a long time. (Maybe that is a bad thing, after my beer they gave up drinking beer :) . I don't think it could be all that bad ;) )

People move on to other things, or find that a forum doesn't meet their needs because the forum changes or their needs change. Two of the moderators here haven't logged in in over a year... Chuck N hasn't been here in 3 years. Alb absent for over a year - are there any active female members? Joe Chianti doesn't count... He's been gone over a year also.

If you sort the member list by most posts made, you'll see that some of the high posters came and visited, but didn't post. Voyeurs?
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...
