Faucets?
Perlick or Intertap? Flow control or not?

Re: Faucets?
I have 2 standard Perlick and one flow control and I can't say I think the flow control is worth it. I never find myself using it but I do see slight differences in the flow. I'd say save your money and spend it elsewhere. Maybe on nitro!

Re: Faucets?
I've got both perlick and intertap. I've had good luck with both. I bought the intertap just to see how they'd do. I didn't really have high hopes, but I've been pleased with them.
I wouldn't use anything but perlick or intertap.

Re: Faucets?
I am sure the Intertap are fine but I do not really care for the look of them. I have Perlicks and love them. If you do not think the flow control is any benefit, I would put that money towards the Stainless Steel taps.
The flow control could have benifit if you are running different kegs off the same pressure, different distances of line length...etc. Also, filling bottles and growlers straight from the tap would be super easy with the flow control models. That is the main atvantage I see and basically the only reason I could see using them myself.

Re: Faucets?
I had two regular Perlicks, I switched to two flow control Intertaps, I'm glad. Probably at least once a month I fill growlers or bottles from the tap. My former method was turning down the pressure, venting the keg, filling the bottle with hopefully just enough pressure, sometimes forgetting to turn the pressure back up....
I like the new method: adjust the flow at the tap, fill the bottle.

Re: Faucets?
Perlicks here because the kegerator I bought years ago had standard taps that needed to be upgraded. I've only ever used them but am very happy with them.
John Sand stole my method of filling growlers and bottles.......that's exactly what I do.
So I can't comment on the flow control or the Intertaps, sorry.

Re: Faucets?
John have you tried any different spouts on your Intertaps? That is a selling point making me think I might like that idea.John Sand wrote:I had two regular Perlicks, I switched to two flow control Intertaps, I'm glad. Re: Faucets?
I have two SS Perlick faucets. One is a 'creamer' style (575SS) whose o-ring finally wore out after 7 years of use. The other is 'Perl' style (630SS). It's about 4 years old and still works like new. Does anyone know the best place to buy Perlick o-rings? I haven't had much luck searching for a replacement o-ring online.

Re: Faucets?
Have 3 of both, for the cost difference I will get the intertaps again when I put the keezer together. I have the flow controls but I don't have them on anything yet but a local small brewery here uses them and loves them.

Re: Faucets?
After some searching on Amazon Prime I found the 575 SS replacement o-ring and ordered it. Even better it'll be delivered here today. I tried using one from Home Depot first but that didn't work. So hopefully I saved myself $45 and will get several more years out of my tap.

Re: Faucets?
Thank you all for the replies and comments. After reading many reviews I have 2 Intertap SS with flow control and SS Shanks on the way. Not sure if I will end up with a 3 or 4 tap system yet, I will decide as I get building it.
