Brew Demon is have a BOGO sale ending today (Sorry, just saw it today). I am thinking of trying their Pilsner. How can I go wrong for around .40 cents per 12 oz bottle? (Two 6 gal. batches for $53.10).
Has anyone attempted their Pilsner, and if you had do you have any thoughts to share? If you haven't tried it, can anyone tell me what a homebrew Pilsner will be like? Can I do anything to this to spruce it up like dry hop some Amarillo, add a bit of zest, etc?

Do you mean their "One Evil Pilsner"?
First you may want to take a look at the "Vital Statistics"
here
One thing about a Pilsner that stands out (consider Pilsner Urquell) to me is both a good bitterness and good hop flavor.
I see the
"One Evil Pilsner" clocks in at 16 IBU. I usually consider somewhere in the 35ish range to be good for a pilsner. For a pilsner you want substantial flavor and aroma additions.
The "One Evil Pilsner states that it is 4.6 ABV and mentions "Bohemian legend".
I would suggest getting enough Pilsner malt extract to add about 0.5 ABV to your brew and doing both 15 and 5 minute additions using Saaz hops to add to the "One Evil Pilsner".

It wasn't horrible … but I wouldn't do it again.
Don't think I would buy it at any price.

Sometimes the BOGO sales are due to stock having a "Best Buy Date" that is expiring / has expired. Make sure you read the offer carefully.
Cans of HME can be used about 2 years after the date, but the brew will be darker, and may be a bit sweeter.

Semi-Pro tip.
If they are older to mitigate the darker/sweeter vibe, use less HME (or make a 2.5 or 3 gallon batch instead of say the spec'd 2 gallon batch to dilute it) and then make up the difference in gravity with plain white sugar. The sugar will ferment out completely and give you back the alcohol, and between this and the dilution it will cut down on the sweetness (dry out the beer) and lighten the color. If it is supposed to be a hoppy flavored beer you may want to chuck some in at the end of the boil.
If it's really old it's still going to be darker though. But the above will help.

Simple and effective, I like it.
