Thanks for posting the MoreBeer link.
I didn't buy any grain but they had a uKeg on sale. Since I am still bottling that sounded like a nice way to have an early sample of my beer.

FWIW, Viking malts are excellent, I've been using them for pretty much everything lately and have nothing bad to say about them.

Great price on sacks, what does the shipping run? Unless free shipping, might be too much.
edit: I looked, it's $21.45 to my door, $46.45 total per 55lb sack. I get close to the same price, $53 last one I bought last year. Still a decent deal for anyone without an LHBS in the vicinity.
Now, if you could find me a killer deal on this, I'd jump all over it!

Wow, that is one expensive growler!

I don't need any malt and have tried a bit of Viking in the past with good results. I like to mix up my grain so that all my beers don't start tasting alike. So, at .90 per pound with shipping, I could not pass it up. I should have bought too but have no room.
What a deal!

With shipping, 2 bags came to $83.88, or slightly more than 76c/lb. That's a pretty good deal in my opinion. Since I've recently gone all grain, it makes even more sense.
People who are local must be really sticking up.

Only if you view it as a growler. If you view it as a micro learning system, it makes much more sense.

With shipping two sacks cost me $79.45 which comes out to somewhere
around .72 a lb...
The discount actually paid for the shipping
I now have to come up with a storage solution myself...

This is what is preventing me from buying in bulk.
Well, that and the need to then buy a mill.

Buying in bulk will quickly pay for the mill.

Agreed. It really is the fact that I would have to come up with a storage option/place/space.

Vittle Vaults are stackable and last forever and keep things just about air tight. But, you do need space for these as well. I use my home office closest to hold all my brewing equipment and supplies.
I would think these could even go outdoors though I would worry more about the heat and possible moisture from any temperature changes that could happen.

That's a real decent deal, atleast for around here and for what I pay. Viking malt is good and I use a lot of it because I buy a lot of stuff from Morebeer.

A grain mill in my opinion is a good investment. How I have my system dialed in very good now. My numbers change if I get it pre-milled and not usually for the better. I've had one since when I was doing extract and steep, then PM and now AG.

So, I can get 50# of Viking malts base malts (2-row, pilsner) pre-milled from MoreBeer shipped to my door for something like $47.50 (as long as I buy another $12 worth of stuff to get the $59 free shipping). IE I would just buy 5 10# bags. If you don't want it pre-milled you can get it even cheaper then that.
So for me since I really like the stuff and I actually like the crush MoreBeer does more then pretty much any other online place... it makes it really hard for me to justify buying 55# sacks and a mill. The mill in my case would not pay itself off very fast.
