Yup..that's not right. The old guy towards the end pretty much said it. Any real hunter isn't going to want to do this.

Indeed. No thanks. I enjoy braving the elements for a month or 2 out of the year. Sitting in a heated shelter has no appeal.

There is a difference between hunting and slaughter. This isn't the only place out there that does this. Some places set up the kill.... Hunting isn't my bag, but I support friends who do. I like the spoils of hunting, just not the dirty work. I don't have the skill or the mindset. There is a gun club around here that an ex neighbor told me he traps pigeons in the city overpasses only to release from a trap for a skeet shoot kind of kill. You can predict exactly where they will fly... sport... right...

somebody that'd do such a thing is beneath contempt, and moves right in to "needs to be beat"!

It ain't hunting and the slob that kills the buck is going to be getting an empty trophy. Boone and Crockett and none of the other big game record keepers will recognize an animal "taken" in an enclosure.

Deer ranching is a big business. You would not believe how much a vial of deer sperm sells for if they can document big racks down the family tree. Too many morons will pay to shoot the things to get their wall mount. I've worked with DNA companies for projects, and discovered that this is one of the things DNA companies do - they don't just track human stuff.
I have great respect for real hunters - the ones who go out and hunt a critter that's led a real critters life and try to do it with a one shot one kill attitude. That's a real hunter. Not so much for those that go to a place like a ranch and shoot it, or especially those urban hunter types and other idiots that go out with a semi and fire off a whole clip at some critter and point their guns at people or things they should not and do not understand their backstop. Those people scare the shit out of me honestly. If they never learned to shoot, then they should hit the range with my Jarhead friends... They will learn then...

+1 mashani the first thing my grandfather taught me was "look past the target and see what your going to hit, if you miss." and my infantry training re-enforced that. it is also the first lesson i taught in to my boys, when teaching them marksmanship. i think that is what is missing now the hand-me-down skills, if you will. they watch movies where bullets are sprayed every where and think that's how it works. they probably even think a car door will stop a bullet.
