I've done nothing but slow chill right in my mash & boil for almost 2 years now with great results. Just gotta learn how to tweak the hop schedule for various beers. I started doing it because my old chiller didn't fit, and I wasn't willing to fork out the cash right away for one that would... but it worked so well I just stuck with it. I can't see myself buying a chiller and wasting water at this point.
