My thoughts are with those in Nashville that were impacted by this morning's tornado.
I've heard through the grapevine that somebody checked in with Swenocha and he's good, but imagine the impact of this will reach far and wide beyond the 6 people who lost their lives this morning.
It seems like everyday there is something going on that acts as a reminder to live life to the fullest and hug the ones you love.

I just saw 22. The one's at night are always the deadliest. Thankfully Swen is ok.

Hey, thanks for checking in and following the story. Yes, we're doing fine (we actually live 15 or so miles south of the damaged areas), so we were very fortunate. Germantown and East Nashville took the brunt of it in downtown, as well as Mt. Juliet in the suburbs. Of the breweries along the storm path, Sean at ENBW skated through as well (though their area was hit pretty hard), Southern Grist was unscathed, and Bearded Iris only lost power, but a few of the other breweries weren't so lucky. Smith and Lentz took the biggest hit, and Little Harpeth took some damage as well (the tornado had it out for the lager breweries it seems). Various Artists brewery didn't take damage, but the owner's personal residence apparently did. Filling Station, fortunately, emerged unscathed, though the concert venue next door was totally destroyed (pic below). Nashville Urban Winery took damage, and Best Brands, one of the distributors here (Bearded Iris' distributor), took a big hit at their office/warehouse and is out of commission at this point.
Before and after:
Literally right next door:
Nashville is a strong community and will weather the storm as we did in 2010 with the floods, but there is a lot to do at this point. If anyone is looking to donate, the brewing community, hockey community, and others have directed their support to The Community Foundation of Middle TN (

Thanks for the update. It’s amazing how a tornado can destroy one building and leave the one next door with zero damage.

Smith and Lentz brewery. Left side is the taproom, the right caved in side is the brewery.
Crazy Gnome Brewery just got their licenses in order last week and brewed their first batch on Sunday.

I don't have any Nashville beers to drink but I will be in town 3/16 - 3/19 and will make sure to have a few to support the local economy
Swen, I likely won't have downtime or I'd try to get together with you.
